Community rules
Version 1 · October 26, 2026
A quiet library
In Hito you study alongside your friends, you do not chat with them. These rules apply to everything other people can see of you: your name, your avatar, your bio and the subject label of your hitos.
What your friends see
Everything starts private. One switch, «Compartir mi actividad con mis amigos» (Share my activity with my friends), decides what your friends see of your studying. You choose it when you get your first friend and you can change it any time in Settings.
- Whether you are studying right now or on a break, and for how many minutes.
- Your finished sessions of the last 7 days that lasted at least 10 minutes, with their length: «Ana studied 1 h 20 min».
- Your study time this week, day by day, on your profile.
- The subject label of a hito, only if you gave it one. The title of the hito never leaves your device.
- With the switch off they see none of this. There are never rankings or comparisons with other people.
- Reactions people send you are seen only by you, with no counts.
The rules
- Respect other people, as you would in a real library.
- No harassment, hate or sexual content: not in your name, your avatar, your bio or your label.
- Do not impersonate another person or Hito.
- Social mode is for people aged 16 and over.
- The subject label says what you are studying. It is not for messages.
- No spam and no advertising.
How to report and block
On any friend's card, the ⋯ menu has «Reportar» (Report) and «Bloquear» (Block). The reported person never learns who reported them.
Blocking is mutual and total: you stop seeing each other in Hito and neither of you can add the other while the block lasts.
What we do with a report
We review reports within 48 h. If something breaks these rules, we may hide a label or a bio, remove an avatar, reset a name, suspend social mode for the account or close it.
If we act on your account, the app tells you which rule was broken and why. If you think we got it wrong, write to [email protected] and another person reviews it.

Version of these rules
You are reading version 1. If we change them, the app shows you the new version before you keep using social mode.
